What being asexual is like

I've had a hard time describing a lack of interest in sex to my friends who like it, and just now I came up with a perfect example, to put sexual people in the shoes of an asexual person.

Imagine 99% of people found picking their partners nose to be the height of showing affection, rather than sex.
Its implied in almost all ads, its in a large portion of movies, there are heaps of songs about it, everyone talks about it constantly, and people can't imagine someone who does not want to pick other peoples noses.
If you have no interest in other peoples noses, congratulations, you should now understand asexuality.
(Of course, this example only works, if you don't fantasise about picking other peoples noses.)
