Phobias?
So, I was wondering, does anyone have any phobias that they know of. And I'm not saying this to be funny.
This is a serious topic and issue so don't joke around, please. It's different if you want to make fun of yourself, but not others.
So, starting off, Al has globophobia, which is the fear of balloons. It's not so much the balloon itself, but the fear of it popping. Being around balloons does make me more anxious, but not enough to completely bother me. NOW if a balloon was to pop near me, I get EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I experience signs that are similar to panic attacks, including sweating, anxiety, shaking, increased heart rate, etc. Yesterday, a balloon popped right next to my face and I had to leave the area to calm myself down. The best part was that the balloons were Balloon ANIMALS and therefore people were wlaking with them and coming near me, and because I didn't fully calm down, I didn't get to enjoy the next hour because of the fear someone was going to pop one in my face.
Why does Al have this? Because when I was younger, someone had a giant helium balloon, and decided to over inflate it, which left it popping in my face. It, at that moment, left an actual mark on my face.
Then, there is also Scoleciphiobia, which is the fear of worms. Seeing them scares the living daylights out of me. I can't look at them, I can't think of them, I can't even hear a description of them.
Where it came from? I had a dream when I was younger, and in it, instead of water raining down, there were worms....so yea
anyone else?

I absolutely refuse to use a spoon, but sporks are fine. I was traumatized by this guy...he always ate with a spoon, no matter what he was eating.
Because of this same guy, I also strongly dislike almost all men...however, I have a strange need to just cuddle with a guy. I'm not a cuddly person, per se, but I wanna cuddle XD...I have a fear of being rejected, and due to this I have the most odd and unnatural talent. I can lie impulsively to the point where I genuinely believe it myself, and I've tried telling people, but something always stops me..this is the most I've ever said about my fears..ever. So..yeah lol..

Well... If it makes sense at all.... I'm afraid of dead fish. Just something about them creeps me out. When a friend's fish floats, I end up on the far opposite side of the house. I had a traumatizing experience... >.>

I have severe arachnophobia. I'm scared of spiders on the ground, but a spider on the wall or the ceiling makes me break into nausea, sweats, vertigo, and of course severe feelings of terror.

I know most people don't like spiders, and many people are rightly wary of them... but it's not normal to feel so terrified that you vomit.

Trypophobia. I'm somewhat okay, around even holes, but it's uneven holes, that look like they have things in them... oh gods, panic attack coming on just thinking about it.

I USED to have a phobia of the dentist but I got over that. Though now it seems replaced with an ever worsening fear of breaking my fillings/getting cavities which is borderline turning into a phobia.

sorry for having to bring a dead thread back.

I'm a claustrophobic, and I can't say it really bothers me, but I feel like I'm going to die if I'm in small places. So I avoid them. I guess I have It because of my brother. Hes 10+ yrs older than me now, but when I was a toddler, and even now still, he tickled me all the time and the normal brotherly+sisterly stuff. A lot of the time he overpowered me and like sat on me or something and I couldn't breath sometimes xDD

I'm also afraid of cars. I dunno what the name for it is though. It started way back in kindergarten when I would be dropped of by the bus on my street and walk home. There would always be the same orange truck that pulled out its driveway and almost hit me a few times. It was like near death experiences and I had like flashbacks of memories and stuff. Getting in cars or ones that aren't moving at all doesn't scare me. only if they are coming at me, behind me, or around me in general. I just freeze until its gone and I get chills and wonder if I'll ever get hit with a car xP

I have a friend with globophobia, I myself hate looking in mirrors, its not really a phobia but it does make me very nervous and scared. The only time I look at a mirror is in the morning when I'm getting ready for school

Well, I've already got my f*cking anxiety disorder crap that alright gets me terrified of a lot of things, but I don't count those as specific phobias. Because everything relating to my anxiety has a tendency to overlap and create a ton of problems.

The only actual, specific phobia is arachnophobia. Fear of spiders. I'm scared sh*tless of spiders. Had a nightmare about them the other day. Only animals I'm afraid of,actually. All it takes is a slight glance at a photo of one online and I can be freaking out and panicking pretty quickly. Worst part is I'm a zoology major, so I'm going to have to deal with this phobia sooner or later unfortunately. And I'm absolutely terrified of that thought.

Well, I meant the particular one, at the end. I felt like I was taught in my psychology class about the opposite of claustrophobia...and I don't recall it.
