To answer a few questions that have been repeatedly asked:

No, Robyn is not leaving. She will remain as a coder/programmer for Ala.

The art will remain the same. Yay!

Henry is the name of Ala's owner, but he does not have an account here. It is not certain if he will create one in the future.

Is Rob gonna stay on the site as an Admin or is she leaving?

Also is the new owner gonna make an account on here?

Oooh okay thanks!!! I am still excited :)

Actually, the "sale" from 5 months ago was not this same person. That was a "test" auction. The guy's name on that auction is called "Jay" - the person who bought the site recently is Henry. The post from five months ago was basically a test by Robyn to see how much Ala was 'worth' - just out of her own curiosity. The ToS states on that site that she may decide whether or not to accept any bid as a winner, and she did not, at that time.

Edit: Also, as far as I'm aware, or that Henry wants us to be aware, he does not have an account of his own here. He simply manages the site, and lets the admin and coders do the work. He's a very hands-off kind of guy, which is what is helping a lot to keep Ala the way it's always been. :)

Jeremy is our coder, he has an Admin level so that he can be involved in coding the site to fix all our bugs. Henry is the new owner who is leaving everything in the capable, knowing hands of our current admins and our lovely coders Robyn and Jeremy.

I'm super excited about this myself.

Haha, I know, I was just in a different frame of mind there :P Probably too tired to be on Ala. But yes, I'm very curious to see what is going on.

I wasn't saying it's Kaeli or Larth, I was calling them in to ask them what's up lol.
If you say a mod's name, they appear - they have beepers in them that set off when their name is typed

"Our new owner has dedicated a new coder for us! Please, let’s all welcome our newest (and certainly most able) coder Jeremy."

No, Knightred (Jeremy) is not the owner :/

No, I don't think it's Kaeli or Larth. The owner's name appears to be Henry, as mentioned on the topic somewhere :)

edit for HTML fail. heh.

Knightred is the owner.

EDIT: Yknow what? I assumed Knightred was the owner too, seeing as though he was the only one mentioned in the news post titled "NEW OWNERSHIP"

..Kaeli? Larth? :P

I'm very pleased with the new site ownership, especially with the promise of bugs being fixed :)

However, Knightred (Jeremy) is a coder that was brought to the site by the new owner. Are we going to be introduced to the site owner any time, or are just to know him as Henry? Does he have an account somewhere? The news post is somewhat misleading :/

...the sale went through recently.

That means 5 months ago, no? I'm not sure of how recent that really is. The auction of the site can be found here.

More information on this would really be nice :)

Knightred isn't the owner, Knightred is the dedicated programmer.

What I'm still wondering is WHO is the owner?

03-23-2012 at 5:24 PM
The only thing Foo has in common with Ala is that there are dogs on the sites.

A million people have said before. Rob is not leaving, Rob has not left, Rob is on the site, Rob is helping coding.

The only real change that has happened is that now you can say "Knightred is the site owner" instead of putting "Robyn" in the place of "Knightred"

Would someone please message me back about this? Thanks!

Does this mean Robyn is gone?

03-23-2012 at 3:33 PM
I kinda just hope that as time passes, Robbeh luff still keeps in touch with us.

I don't know of any time when the admin kinda drifted away, but I'm afraid to lose the mother who gave birth to this site. No, I'm not asking that Robyn stay on 24/7 and say hi to everyone, but it would be nice to just be able to know she's there still :) Because I'll be upset if in 5 months time, Robyn forgets about ala...but that will never happen, so what's to worry about? xD

03-23-2012 at 3:18 PM
I don't really have anything to say. I'm feeling pretty chill about the new owner. XD

So in my opinion, it's all good!

03-23-2012 at 3:08 PM
I also came from Foo, guys. I understand what happened to the Foo-conomy and Foo-user-base when they came in and started to change things. What I can assure you all of is that, as an admin, I know we are NOT changing in the way that Foo did. We are still Alacrity! We are NOT moving to a pay-to-play model. The new owner is only interested in preserving Alacrity's game play while minimizing the issues caused by bugs and other such things.

Robyn is still participating in the development and betterment of the site! We are here to make everything even more awesome for you, the players!

Kira, in other posts they already said Rob wants to stay involved in the site =)

03-23-2012 at 2:41 PM
Considering I came from Foo, and seeing that this site is much more responsible than Foo, I am not worried at all. Of course there was the initial "I didn't see that one coming" phase, but that doesn't mean I love Ala any less. I'll be looking forward to the furture of Ala.

03-23-2012 at 2:39 PM
I actually have two questions for you. First is Roby going to remain involved in the site as far as you know? I realize you can't predict that but just as far as is known currently, and second is the ownership transfer something that is final as per the announcement or is it still in transition? I'm happy to hear that things aren't going to change, but also apprehensive of ownership changes, not that I expect anything ridiculous to happen, but I was a happy member of Foopets until the change of ownership destroyed the site. So I just would like some reassurance XD

Yeah, agreeing with Kaitie. At least have some faith & trust in Ala, y'know?
