We are pleased to announce that the raffle is now live and tickets are ready for the taking! A minor amendment to the previous instructions; tickets are located on the Raffle Page, where you can also view how many tickets are live on the site and how many you already have! You may also view the full list of prizes on the raffle page -- there are 12 prize packs in all (one for each year of the Chinese Zodiac)!

Another couple updates:
• Adverts now have a preview option before they are posted. Here, you can make sure any formatting you've done is correct and that your ad looks the way you want it to. Once you've verified your ad is the way you want it, you can post it!
• Newbie Helper Applicants are open. You can find details on this in the Newbie Helper Open Applications Thread.
• In case you missed the below news post, the backslash problem has been fixed! You can clear up backslashes that were appearing in dog names, forum posts, on your profile, etc by editing them out.
• There has been recent confusion about using the refresh function to search for Random Events. Please note that excessive use of refresh by way of manual F5 manipulation or by program/bot is considered an exploit and is cheating. It is extremely obvious when this happens and we will be keeping an eye out for it, so please keep it honest :)

We've "slashed" through the backslash problem, or so we hope! They've been a problem for a while now, but our excellent coders have been hard at work trying to hammer this particular bug out, and we think it might be gone for good! So, if your usernames haven't been working due to apostrophies and/or quotation marks being in them, try updating your profile information and hopefully everything will show up as it should. :}

We've also noted the problem where news post comments that contain more than one paragraph get smashed together into a single one. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we've resolved this as well.

To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, the staff have decided to purchase a Chinese Dragon Marionette Plush to send to one lucky player!


Raffle tickets to win this adorable plush will be available in the monthly shop beggining sometime within the next 24 hours (we will post another news update when they are available, so don`t worry about camping out in the monthly shop) and will remain available for purchase through the evening of Sunday, January 22nd, but as this is a real life toy, there are some rules about entering this raffle:

In order to qualify for the Dragon Marionette Plush, the following requirements must be met:
1.) All entrants must be 13 years of age or older, no exceptions.
2.) Entrants which are over 13, but under the age of 18, will need parental permission to provide shipping information for the prize.
3.) This prize can only be shipped within the United States (I apologize for this; we will find a way to ship to other countries for the next raffle!)

That`s OK, you can still purchase raffle tickets! We will also be pulling tickets for up to five on-site prizes. More details on these prizes will be included in the post which introduces the raffle tickets to the monthly shop.

Tickets will be an inventory item purchaseable for $25,000 Alacrity Cash, or 1 Bone, from the monthly shop. There will be an icon and an inventory count for each ticket purchased, but these items cannot be used anywhere else on the site. Each ticket will be assigned an individual ID, which will be put into a randomizer program to pull the winners on Monday, January 23rd. After the winners are pulled and prizes awarded, all of the raffle tickets will disappear in preparation for the next raffle :)

There will be no limit on the number of tickets you can purchase, so start saving!
