Thread Closings

I have noticed a trend in the thread closings over the last few months. Almost all off the threads I am referring to have been closed when certain person(s) come in and starts spouting off their opinions as fact and then yelling at others and saying they are wrong when they cannot provide any proof for their own argument. (I'm saying proof, just because I think a debate should be based on facts and not just opinions.) Obviously people argue back but it tends to degrade from there into a huge bleep-fest, and the the thread being locked in the end.

Do you feel it is fair for the rest of us to have our debates shut down because certain person(s) almost always cause the thread to be closed? Why should all of us be punished and have to stop debating about something because of said person(s)? I've counted several threads thus far that this has happened in, and all involved the same person(s).

Please, please, please leave names out of this. It isn't meant to be a personal attack on anyone, but I am getting highly aggravated at more and more threads being closed because of drama that is almost always associated with said person(s). I am just curious how others feel on this topic.

I don't think ts fair, no, and I can say so becuase in one specific thread, I wanted to have a decent debate. I just had a debate in my government class with high school kids and they bhaved better than some people are on here. I don't know if its the immaturity, or if people are taking things to literally, but it needs to stop. If one knows that they can't be in a debate without yelling or getting insulted, they should moderate themselves, or not participate. There are 14k users on this site and becuase of some users, everyone is losing the privelege to be on a debate.<br /> <br /> I think the debate thread is a great thing for a site like this and I hope to see that maybe we could have a pernament mod or someone who could control these threads and stop the chaos. I would really like to appreciate this thread a lot more without having to deal with these closings.
