What Happens After We Die?
Started By
What do you think will happen to YOU once you stop breathing? Hell, heaven, space, other dimensions, etc. - where will you go? But wait.. will we actually "go" anywhere? There is an opinion (or a fact?) that humans dont have souls at all... Your opinion. I want it. Disrespect, bashing and etc are not wanted, sorry :)

Well, glad you'll be meeting up with Hitler when you die! Hitler believed deeply in the Christian God, and killed Jewish people because he believed that they killed Jesus Christ. But, he believed in God and accepted his salvation. Therefore, he would be in Heaven. Not to be rude, but I'm just trying to affirm something here based on everything that you guys have said. No offense meant, I'm just stating things that are fact.:3 ((Note: I also got the idea from this post from said Christian friend. She believes that Jesus died for everyone, not just Christians. And she thinks I'm going to Heaven, and I think that she is going to Heaven. And we certainly don't believe in the same things. We coexist, which is what I think we should do.))

Also, one more thing I just thought of:

" 7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

Saying that you shall not judge unless you are free of sin yourself. Therefore, only Jesus and God can judge a person. A mortal man or woman cannot say whether someone is going to heaven or hell. Judge not, lest ye be judged.

Thank you Indigo!
You said what I forgot to say.

I never said you couldn't defend your beliefs. I said this in my very first post; "(I'm very sorry if something I said offended anyone, I just really wanted to get my point across.)" I never said anything about you not being able to stand up for your beliefs.

Yes, He did die for ALL OF US. I said that earlier. Salvation is a gift, YOU choose whether or not to accept it. It's not like it's super complicated or anything.

I can't say I know why it's that way, because I don't. That's just the way God made it to be. It doesn't matter if you've "lived a good life" or whatever you said. What matters is that you believe in God, and accept Him as your Savior.

07-15-2010 at 7:05 PM
It isn't a person's works that gets them into heaven. The Bible says all our righteousness is as filthy rags. All the good things you do on earth are nothing if you don't accept Christ as your savior. It's the ONLY way to get into heaven.

I'm not saying don't stand up for your belief. But don't get upset when I stand up for mine. I do not believe in a Hell. I believe that everyone goes to Heaven, despite what they've done. ((At worst, I believe in a temporary hell. Or a punishment factor. Usually served as forced ghosts and spirits on earth. But I won't get into that now.))

Yes. He sent his son to die for us. But he sent his son to die for ALL OF US. Not just the Christians, not just the Jews, not just the straight, the white or the men. ((Note: No discrimination meant to those groups of people. Just the best examples I could come up with.)) His son died for everyone. So, why would someone go to hell just because they didn't believe in him? What if someone lived the best life they could? They helped the homeless, used their money to buy food and clothing for those who can't do it for themselves. Were rich, but didn't live extravagantly, used the money to help whoever they could. Now, what if that person was atheist? You're saying that even though they are better than a lot of Christians I know ((NOT ALL. Just some of the more famous ones)), they would go to Hell just because they didn't believe in your God? That just seems...wrong. I mean, I don't like insulting dieties, but really. That's just effed up.

07-15-2010 at 5:54 PM
Well I have never in my life heard a Christian say that. In my opinion, if any Christian said that, I'd find THEM hypocritical, and I think that perhaps they need to be questiong themselves and whether or not they're actually Christians. But thats just my opinion.
You can say all you want about it not being the truth, but I KNOW that it is. I love God, and I'm going to stand up for Him.

He is a loving God. He sent His son to DIE ON THE CROSS for all of us. Would you do that for someone you loved? I doubt it; I know I wouldn't want to. But He did. The Bible said that He didn't even look like a man after he died. I can't even imagine. You just have to believe in Him and accept Him. If you don't, then yes, you will go to Hell.

I'm not trying to be rude either, it's just that when I see a chance to share with someone about Christ, I take it. No matter what.

Plenty of Christians say that. They joke around because they are told they are going to hell. Pretty much all of my friends have been told they are going to hell, despite being Christian. Me and my friends don't see the point in arguing with them, because they never understand our logic, and it gets them to shut up about it. That's just how we act. It doesn't mean they actually believe there's parties in hell, but they don't see the point in arguing. And I've had this argument before. There is no proof that your truth is "the truth". I mean, I believe my belief system is the truth (heaven, no hell, multiple gods). Christians believe their system is the truth. Atheists believe they know the absolute truth. No one can know the truth of the afterlife without a reasonable doubt. Because no one comes back from the afterlife to tell us if there is one or what it's like.

...Well. I believe in God. I'm going to Heaven. (Course, I also believe in a Goddess, does that make it a double Heaven?) Seriously. I don't mean to be rude, but the Christian God is supposed to be a loving God. So, if he's so loving, why would he send us to burn for all eternity for having different beliefs?>.> Especially when he taught tolerance and acceptance of all people, not just Christians. It doesn't make any sense, and I find that many of the beliefs contradict themselves. I have nothing against Christians, just hypocrites.>.> ((As in, my best friend is sitting next to me. Who is a huge Christian leaving on a mission trip in two days. And she doesn't believe in Hell at all. And we actually have a similar belief when it comes to Heaven. Same with my other Christian friends. None of them think I'm going to Hell because I'm pagan. I don't see why some people say non-Christians go to Hell. When their god is supposedly one of love and acceptance? Seems kind of hypocritical to me.))

I'm sorry for not saying it right the first time. I always say it wrong by accident.

Anyways. Yes, I actually HAVE had people come up to me and say it'll just be a party in Hell. And they were completely serious. I'm not trying to be rude here, but have you ever thought that those friends of yours might not actually be Christians? I mean, I honestly can't think of a Christian who actually loves God who would say that; it blows my mind. And yes, I have had people mock me, but do I care? No. I care about where they're going when they die, but the mockery doesn't even phase me because I know the truth. They obviously don't.

And yes, not being a Christian means you go to Hell. There's no way around it. You can say it's stupid all you want, but it's the truth. You must become a Christian who believes in God to go to Heaven. God is the ONLY way.
John 14:16 says; "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
That pretty much sums it all up.

07-15-2010 at 4:50 PM
"Alot of non-Christians believe that Hell will be like some big party, but they're completely wrong."

Two things with that statement. One is that "alot" is two different words; "a lot".>.> Sorry, pet peeve of mine. Not meant to offend.

Another thing about that statement, but you do realize that people don't think that Hell will actually be a party right? When people say that to you, they are basically making fun of you.>.> They don't think Hell is fun, but they get tired of actually trying to use logic of how they don't believe in Hell so they just say they'll be having a party. Me and my friends have actually made a plan to take over Hell and turn it into a huge party, because according to everyone else we're all going there. ((A note: Half of these friends are actually Christian themselves. The others just don't believe in Hell, like myself.)) I didn't mean to sound rude with that, but I couldn't think of another way to say it.>.> That's just what they mean they say it. And not everyone who says Hell is a party is non-Christian. I know Christians who have joked like that.

Also, I'm curious. What qualifies you as going to hell? Because most of the things I see are, in my eyes, ridiculous. ((For example: Not being Christian. I honestly find that the stupidest reason for a person to be in Hell.))

07-15-2010 at 4:26 PM
Erille: I see where you're coming from, but you will never be bored in Heaven. You will get to see Jesus, the person that all Christians love and worship! I can assure you that you won't get bored, because you will be worshipping, and prising God. It seems pretty amazing to me! (:

I am also a firm believer in Christ, so I know I'm going to Heaven when I die. But you have to remember, our earthly bodies stay here on earth when we die, it's our souls that go to Heaven or Hell. (I'm sorry if you don't believe that, it's just what I know.)

A lot of non-Christians believe that Hell will be like some big party, but they're completely wrong. Hell is fire and suffering basically. Once you're there, you can't get out and you never stop burning. Ever. The Bible says that there will be "wailing, and weeping, and gnashing of teeth." Can you even imagine? It would be horrible to hear that for the rest of eternity. And another thing, the Bible says that once you're in Hell, you aren't going to care about anyone but yourself. All you will want is to get out, and to drink even a tiny bit of water. But you won't be able to. You'll be stuck there forever.

I really encourage y'all to at least think about what I said. And if anyone wants to ask me any questions, message me and I will try to answer as best I can.

(I'm very sorry if something I said offended anyone, I just really wanted to get my point across.)

Yes i know what i am wondering is if it is a sin to believe in that. It IS the Myans and the calender of the ancient Myans ends at 2012 also a black hole will aline with the sun on 2012 and a bunch of other stuff. And i dont wanna get of subject so... yah

07-13-2010 at 8:40 PM
2012 is not a Christian belief. (At least not the original belief. I'm sure there are Christian beliefs that say it as well.) The original belief is from the Mayans (or is it the Aztecs?>.> I always get it mixed up.)

07-13-2010 at 8:24 PM
Agree with Jocey1997. Though i am scared about the whole 2012 thing and i dont know if thats again Christian religion???

Well... I am a firm believer in Christ, so I believe you will either go to heaven or hell, depending on it you have accepted Jesus into your life.

I believe that, in the last few moments of your life, as your brain craves oxygen and slowly dies due to lack of O2, you will hallucinate. In that hallucination, you will see those who you love, and be where you always wanted to be. Those few moments will seem to last forever. Then everything fades out, and you die. But that's pretty much it- no special floaty cloud land that you just chill out at for eternity. But some of me also believes that a part of your energy lives on, and it stays in your favorite place, or where you died, or where you were at your worst. It almost stays as a "feeling," that people feel when they pass by that spot.

But I still believe in the gods and goddesses, and I still ask them for guidance and I still live a good life (as far as I am concerned.) I don't need a "heaven" or a "hell" to scare me into living a decent life.

To Ginger: So, by saying you don't sin, you are essentially saying that you are perfect, am I right? Well, I thought according to your Bible, no one is perfect except God and Jesus. Everyone sins. No one is perfect.

Just thought I would point out the flaw in your logic.

I believe that there is a heaven and a hell. I'm Christian so, yeah. The only things that worry me about death is which, um, direction you'll go to and the second, just has to be, wouldn't you get bored if you had to be dead for the rest of eternity?

It always poses an interesting question when I think about what happens after death. I have often thought of recarnation, but I don't know.

I don't quite believe in a "heaven"
I never really was a religious person soo ^^''

I believe in reincarnation or that a least we are going back into the world some way.
kinda like Philip Pullman's book the Amber Spyglass, something like that C=

I'm not to worried about dieing, sure i could have done some things better and i'd like to change a few things but i'm happy with my self. I'd like it if there was something after this but who really knows?
