I am turning the Christmas random events off, and I would also like to address something: Christmas Gift Giving.
We were NOT supposed to have gift giving this year. The site automatically engaged the event. We did not turn that on. As such, the site also did NOT let anyone open their gifts. No one. And we are not going to. It wasn't meant to be active at all.
We do not yet know if we will keep the presents that are stored away for next year. We will talk about this when that time comes, but for now, it's best to assume that those items will not be available.
I would say that the site's state is far worse than just being in a downward spiral. It's more like the site is on life support at this point. I wish luck in the future attempts to improve things.
Believe me, we're all sad (staff and users) about Ala doing a down spiral. I promise you we are working on it. I can't reveal any details but all I'm going to tell you is after this, Ala is going to be better than how it use to be.
Some of you may have already noticed a few new Random Events occurring - these are special events containing non-retired Holiday items for you to enjoy! Can you happen upon them all before the end of the month?

Our coders have addressed these problems we've been having, and everything should be running as they should. :) But do submit issues if that's not the case for you!

As for the coders, I am <i>extremely</i> thankful! I know (American) Thanksgiving just passed and that Christmas is coming up soon, so there's a lot of busy and stressful days coming up. I couldn't appreciate it more! :)
