Please take note of the new poll, but don't think that we have forgotten the results of the last one. On Robyn's list of things to fix is setting markings to show by defaults and make those that want them hidden check the box :)

I vote no, or you can have a check box by them so people have a choice to use them or not on text.

You guys are so picky. Of course nobody wants them, because then (as usual) The mods would go crazy about "Homg smilie overuse!" Just like everything else. Couldn't we compromise? Have it be turned off? Or if you overuse it, you get it turned off? Come on, be a little flexible. Let the chat have at least a TINY bit of light please.

I already overuse smilies and I know it. :) Please leave them text. I would be even more annoying as I try to convey that I am amused or smiling as I chat.

We have a couple quick updates for you all tonight :)

First, the wonderful kittybot (#7183) has decided to step down from xyr post as a site artist due to personal reasons. Xe will be missed greatly and we all are extremely grateful for xyr contributions over the past months. We wish xyr all the best of luck in future endeavors!

Second, we have a fun new site contest for you all! In order to gear up for Halloween, we are hosting a two part contest; an art contest and a writing contest. The theme of these will be about gearing up for Halloween, which is coming up fast! Please, feel free to enter both contests, but please do so in their respective threads :)

Each of these contests will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!
  • First Place: 10 Bones, $100,000, and your choice of a Halloween item, once released!
  • Second Place: 5 Bones, $50,000, and your choice of a Halloween item, once released!
  • Third Place: 3 Bones, $30,000, and your choice of a Halloween item, once released!

We are closing these threads for submissions at 6:00PM, Alacrity Time, on Friday, October 14th, so you have a couple weeks to prepare your submissions! You only get one submission per contest per player (NOT per account), so make them good!

Finally a contest I can actually enter!<br /><br /> I wrote something small about one of my dogs that keeps winning scary beauty contests; it seems the most appropriate to write about him ^_^<br /><br /> I'll be excited to see the results of this. I don't see a lot of well-done stories on Alacrity (it seems to be filled with artists, not writers) so I'm interested in learning who among us is secretly really talented!
