I see her go to the back of the barn. I was pretty hungry, but I didn't want to admit it or show it, my stomach would because of its n growling.
I followed her to the back and get up onto my two feet and sit at the table near the fridge.
I didn't sleep that night.I kept tossing and turning in bed thinking about Olive.I kept wondering how in the world we both got this way but no answers came up.My parents would know I thought. If only they were alive to help. The sun crept into my little dark hole telling me I had slept the night. It was still early about 5:30 Gina and her husband were still asleep down the hall.I got out of bed and got dressed.I sneak down the hall to where Gina kept her car keys.My parents had taught me to drive before they died so I would have no problem driving a few blocks to get to the barn.

I parked and got out quickly.Olive was just about to leave.
"Wait!"I shouted to him.I ran closer. He was still a dog so he could run faster than me but I hoped he'd stay put.
"Are you hungry?"I asked.I saw in his eyes he was so I got up and headed into the barn.Cacciatore greeted me when I walked into the barn.He bumped his head against my chest and I scratched his neck.I left him to go further back to the fridge.I pulled out energy bars and two bottles of orange juice.
In the morning, I see the sun rise and stretch out. I feel my little hay nest and the stuffy-ness of the loft.
I didn't know if Chloe was coming back, so I head down the stairs and walk to the the door to leave.
I saw him walk of and turn to a dog halfway to the barn.I was a bit suprised but I knew it.I lead Cacciatore back to the barn.I returned him to his stall ready for the night.
"Thank goodness Gina didn't come get me it's been forever!"I whispered to myself.I took out my phone and thumbed through apoligies from Gina. The last message said she was taking me back home at around 6 which was in 5 minutes.I heard Olive nestle in on the loft were I found him this morning. He was half asleep.
"You can have a warm bed if you come to my house but you don't have to if you don't want to."I walked back t the latter and went down.I left the barn to stand in the chill sunset outside waiting for Gina.
I looked her back in the eyes and decided that there wasn't much else to say. Seeing that it was getting dark soon, I walked back to her barn, leaving Chloe and her horse behind. Half way there, I got back onto all fours and padded back to the barn.
I went up to the loft and rolled around in some hay to make a bed. Seeing as she knew what I was I didn't see any point of hiding it anymore.
"Okaymy name's Chloe. And if you have a home to get back to then whywere you sleeping in a barn?"I asked seeing him falter.
I stop and focus back on the girl "Uhm, yea, I'm just... heading home..." I look away from her gaze and try to avoid eye contact. "My name's Olive by the way..."
I koew he knew what I was talking about but I didn't pester him further.
"Do you have a place to sleep tonight?"After he didn't answer I continued with asking his name and hoped he'd answer both without that distracted look in his eyes.It annoyed me when people did that when I was taking to them though I didn't tend to talk to many people.
I see the girl and see her tail. I knew what she meant but I didn't want to admit it to her. "Uh, yea, a furry right...Me too..." I try to sound bored and distracted.
I lift my hat up and try to hold my ears stiff to make them look like they're cheap, fake clip ons then quickly replace my hat. "Cute, yea, sure..." I start walking off again.
I sat there watching the girl that smelled like a cat get up on the horse and ride after the other boy.I slunk towards them seeing what was up.I quickly hid myself partially behindsome empty feed sacks and watched them.I couldn't exactly hear what they were saying but I could lip read. She was asking where the other boy was going but she said something else That I didn't catch. Then showed him her tail.I looked down at my own tail the one thing that stayed with me when I was human the one thing I had to hide. She was just like me but I wasn't about to go out and tell her that not with that other guy around.
