Kineta giggled while Dinah sniffed her over. "That tickles!"

Kendra walked closer to the hole and looked down at Dinah. "Is there a safe way down?"

Kineta looked around to see if there was a way down.. there was a few roots and things... Unsurely she said, "maybe..." She looked at Dinah hopeful that she would say Kendra could come with them.. Even if there was no way up.. with a few long jumps she might be able to make it down. Then again she was thinking squirrely, Kendra doesn't run around squirrel jumpinging.. Kineta sighed and and sniffed around the start of the tunnel waiting for Dinah's opinion.

Kendra looked at Sha and off into the woods were the others must be then back to Dinah. She wanted to go with them, but what were the dogs left up here going to do? Sha was hurt and Dusk never seemed to snap out of his dream... so who was going to lead them home if Dinah was in a hole? But what if the tunnel was really long... would Dinah and Kineta be okay by them self? What if she never saw Kineta again? Kendra's head pounded with thoughts.
Sheena huffed and puffed as she finally caught up to an apparently fully energized Kendra... "I'm either really out of shape or I'm still weak and tired from all that walking." She looked around to see where Dinah was.

"Ummm where's Dinah," she said as she edged closer to a random and scary hole in the ground. "Oh, nevermind." She backed away from the edge.
Dinah sighed. "I guess we look for another way out." She sniffed Kineta carefully, checking for injuries, but the pup seemed okay... just a little beaten up. "Maybe we should--"

"Dinah!" Cobalt howled, skidding to a halt at the edge of the hole. "How did you get here?"

"I fell," Dinah replied, giving him a blank look. She noticed Kendra and Sha giving her odd looks and cocked her head at them in question.

"We know you fell, Dizzy," Sha sighed. "We just watched you do it."

"I know that," snapped the border collie. "But Cobalt asked."

"Dinah... did you hit your head?" Sha asked, just as Cobalt whined,
"Dinah, who are you talking to?"
Kendra was looking back in the woods to see if Sheena was coming still then she heard Sha telling her to restrain Dinah? At that moment she noticed Dinah falling into the earth and she dove to grab her. But it was too late.. Dinah had fallen in and the earth was crumbling under her paws she froze in fright as she realized a few things one there was a hole, two Kineta was in it, three... the earth was slipping away from under her paws!

"Dinah!!!" Kineta barked excitedly! "I'm okay... a hurt a bit all over...." Then Kineta looked up as more earth started sprinkling on her head. Then... she saw Kendra! "Kendra jump back!!!!" Kineta stood up on her back legs and pressed her paws against the wall that was under Kendra. Feeling like this might help keep it there, somehow.

Kendra jumped back onto safe ground and then in a stressed worried confused way she said, "What on earth do we do now??"

Kineta got back down on all fours and started to back up so she could look up better to see Kendra... after taking a few paw steps back she realized she hadn't hit a wall? Where was the wall?? She stopped and looked at Dinah very confused.. "Why isn't there a wall here?" She turned around and stared into the blackness of a tunnel.
"Yes, genius," Sha sighed. Beside him, Dinah was whining and looking for a way into the hole, without success. "Kendra, will you restrain her? She's going to fall in."

Of course, at this exact moment the edge crumbled away under Dinah's feet, and she plunged into the hole next to Kineta. Sha snarled and grabbed for her tail as it disappeared over the edge, but he missed. "Good job, graceful."

"Quit sniping, Sunshine," Dinah huffed as she picked herself up off the ground. She turned to Kineta. "You all right, pup?"

Meanwhile, Cobalt's ears perked up. "Frappe? Do you hear Dinah?"
Kineta awoke and cried with the pain through out her body. After a few moments she relaxed and the pain mostly faded. She opened her eyes and lifted her head some but all she could see was black then she thought to look up.. She tilted her head and peered upwards into the night sky.. "Did I fall into a hole?", she asked "herself".

Kendra had run well ahead of Sheena after she had heard Dinah's whinning. After she reached Dinah and Sha she stopped and looked around still confused..
Cobalt's tail wagged, faltered, and then wagged again. "I think it's an... owl?" He suggested. He hoped not. Birds were terrifying. He sidled closer to Frappe and peered up into the trees. He really wished Dinah was around.
Frappe put a small smirk on her face, but she was still paranoid about the random creaking she heard from the trees. Suddenly, a loud "WHO!" was heard from behind them. Frappe stood on edge and slowly walked to Cobalt. "I think there is an animal out there," she whispered.
"Scared?" Cobalt poked the tree again, and wagged his tail when it once again drew away from him. "This is neat! I wonder if it talks?" He yipped at the tree a couple of times, but it did not deign to answer him. "Oh well. There's a stream, at least." He grinned and tipped his ears back, an expression that never failed to make Dinah and Chi smile. Maybe it would have the same effect on Frappe and calm her down a bit. He hoped so.

Dinah sniffed at the edge of the hole before them and whined softly. It was deep; she could barely see Kineta at the bottom. She hoped the pup was unconscious as Sha said, and not dead. "Has she moved or made any sounds, Sha?"
"Not a one," Sha sighed. "But I can see her breathing."
"Well, shouldn't we try to get her out of there?" the border collie fretted.
"I'd love to, sweetheart," Sha replied dryly, "but in case you haven't noticed, there isn't a way back out of that hole once you're in it."
"Well... maybe one of us should go down there and see if there's another way out."
"I'd rather not see half the pack die in a hole," Sha growled.
Frappe's eyes widened at the sight of the tree. "Cobalt, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore. what did we enter, Halloween Town?" She stepped on a branch and the loud echoing sound of it snapping startled her and she yelped loudly. "Cobalt, I don't think i've ever been so scraed in my life before. You?"
