For those dog over the TP cap being forbidden to be sold/trailed is just punishing the players for something they weren't told wasn't supposed to happen.<br /> <br /> I think a fair solution, rather than slapping the sale/trail restriction on them, is to let them keep the extra TP but in all situations like breeding, trailing etc. it be taken as the maximum game TP. It'd be basically the same as lowering it in theory, but the work and cash they put into said dog wouldn't be totally useless.

I understand the issue of OTC dogs on the site, I have at least one myself, and yes I do agree that the Aviator cap should not be stackable, but what would happen if you added 1 aviator cap to a capped dog? nothing? If the cap for all dogs is 8999.99, then what about adding a Spring Fawn companion? Would this be rendered useless with capped dogs as well?<br /> I don't think it would be fair to "undo" all the work, time, and money that users have spent to better their dogs, and I don't think it's fair to knock down their TP and retire them from trials.. ...Maybe with those that had a capped dog and added multiple aviator caps could have the TP kicked down a bit, but not to the cap. Is there a way to work out, when the aviator caps were put on, and maybe add up what their TP would be with only 1 aviator cap? (starting TP + whatever TP was incurred with having 1 aviator cap equipped) ..This way, there would still be OTC dogs, but it would be done it a way that is fair for all players..Then maybe add separate trials for these dogs in each trial level, would this be a viable option?

Okay I gave this some thought. One of the big issues with these dogs is that if we hit them over the head, tie them up and wave the magic mod wand to drag them back to the cap all the money and effort put into those dogs up til the current time is a waste of users time and money.If you simply make them untrailable you are also taking away a lot of users money making dogs.<br /> <br /> Would it be possible to give the option to the people who want their dog to stay the same and untrialable and still want to trial a "replacement" trial dog of their breed choice? It seems more useful than a companion the users might not even like visually or find not useful to them.<br /> <br /> I think the replacement should be of trial age, fully trained and to the cap after all some of the time and money put into some of these dogs is worth at least 1 of those dogs training time and money, though honestly in cases such as the Lead dogs list I think we can easily say they are worth 3 or 4 money and time wise. In any case for those wishing to trail and keep their dog as is I think it could be a workable choice.<br /> <br /> In either case I still think the choices given suck and that the game should be made to grow around these dogs rather than taking away ambition, more or less swindling players out of REAL money and in my view breaking the game beyond repair. I’m sticking around to see how ala handles this…However I’m seriously thinking of leaving, how can I stay on a site where any investment I make could be taken away to make things “fair” instead of the site growing to fit new needs.

My suggestion when this whole OTC dog thing came up a long time ago was to simply lower the cap. Capped dogs can make $15k in one trial. Lower the cap, less money coming in.

Alce: Our discussion is about what to do with currently over the cap dogs, doing nothing is not an option. We will be doing something, whether that's make them untrialable and leave them over, or reduce them down, or a third option offered in here. But nothing is not an option.<br /> <br /> We're already working on putting in place restrictions so nobody can over the cap again.

You still cant leave them over cap it still wont be fair trails wont change against people will still trail the same dogs because people have immortal dogs etc.

I agree with Thylacine ("Leave currently exsisting overcap dogs alone, and just prevent more from being created") and Al ("Place the restrictions on further generations of dogs so that way people can breed/trial capped dogs, but they can't increase the TP any more than 8999.99")<br /> <br /> I feel that this would be a good solution because those who have poured money into their OTC dogs wouldn't be penalized by reverting their dogs' TP or making them untrialable. <br /> <br /> These dogs should be allowed to live out the rest of their lives and die normally. The created of new capped dogs would only be prohibited in the future. This way, users who have OTC dogs would not be punished, and the problem of OTC dogs would subside as time went on. I feel that this gradual change, rather than an immediate change, would work better

Okay so speaking as someone WITH an over the cap dog, I suggest leaving all current over the cap dogs as they are now. Give them the ability to do as they want. That way people aren't necessarily being gypped from everything they worked hard on. <br /> <br /> Place the restrictions on further generations of dogs so that way people can breed/trial capped dogs, but they can't increase the TP any more than 8999.99.<br /> <br /> At least this way, the number of OTC dogs won't increase.<br /> <br /> Let's say there is 100 total OTC dogs on this site. IF you keep the restrictions to further generations, there will only be at the most THOSE 100 OTC dogs. IF they die, they die. But those are the only ones. <br /> <br /> They should still be able to trial in my honest opinion. Most capped dogs should be making it to the highest trial levels anyways so we shouldn't be really messing up the other users. Maybe have a capped dog trial exclusively for those with TP's of 8999.99 and up?
