We are still evolving Scarlet.. it takes millions of years like I already stated so the changes are very very gradual. There is so much evidence of evolution including the bone structures of whales fins looking practically identical with human hands. There is also evidence that whales used to have legs, its somewhere within their body structure.<br /> <br /> I'm not going to debate further with you because your beliefs are solid in your mind and I don't see them changing any time soon. As a crude example, lets take dogs with long ears. Every litter, the dog with the longest ears is taken and bred with another dog that had the longest ears out of it's own litter. So, if Animal Planet told you to jump off a cliff and make you believe that you could fly, you would?! Do you really believe Animal Planet more than the Bible? Oh, and also, if you do any reading about Darwin, you yourself will find that at the end of his life he was even doubting his own THEORY. If you don't learn about evolution, your argument is really invalid as you don't have the facts to support your claims. You have to know both sides of the argument to really be effective. I, Pit-Lover11 believe in God but, I think evolution is real. I think it's real because how come monkeys have thumbs like us? And how come they can walk on two legs? And the earth is very old. It is about 6.5 million years old. (I only know it is that old because on animal planet did a thing about Madagascar and nothing but animals have lived there.) And that is what I believe in.

Firstly, it's not thousands and thousands of years. Try billions.<br /> <br /> Secondly, what you're saying is technically true, but I don't think you understand exactly how evolution works. It's not as if one, single cell mutates at a time. Different traits evolve over a very long period of time, and those that don't work die off. The vast majority of mutations never make it past the "trial stage." Many die before they ever reach adulthood, and most die before they ever pass on their genes. So, yes, many of them fail and perish. That's natural selection.<br /> <br /> Furthermore, there is plenty of evidence of evolution. Charles Darwin pretty much found as much as was needed in the Galapagos. If you've not read or at least glanced over his research (particularly dealing with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin's_finches">the finches</a>), then you really should. The variety of finches found there all share a common ancestor, but they have adapted and evolved to fit different niches.<br /> The thing that causes the major difference between these different species (beak shape/size) is a chemical concoction that affects them while they develop in the egg. It's not a matter of just one cellular difference; it's a chemical change that affects <i>all</i> birds. Some of the birds just get more of one kind of chemical or another, and that changes their development in a specific way. It's not magic; it's <i>science!</i> And as fascinating and amazing as it is, there's no reason it has to be anything other than a natural occurrence.

If even a few are missing, or are incorrectly built, an organism can fail to function, and will die. How does evolution take place and manage to build such complex organisms, then? Yet again, even if it is only gradual, there would be such extreme danger; these creatures would develop different diets, behaviors, instincts, and appearances. These cells would have to have evolved out of pure luck on NUMEROUS occasions; creating cells to digest, multiply, create venom, be immune to venom and various bacteria, defense, offense, flight, gills, mobility, respiration, secretion... A different body would mean such careful building of the cells to ensure the creature can survive, and evolving would have resulted in so much dangerous potential brotherline of death or life; if one cell were not properly "evolved," it would all crash. It sounds like there should have been so much trial-and-error of dead, evolved critters; the few that make it might not even have the proper, evolved instinct, behavior, family structure, diet, mobility... to survive. <br /> <br /> I simply don't understand how evolution would have managed to create so many complex beings out of pure chance, even if it has occurred the past... what, thousands and thousands of years.
